Gabriela’s work focuses on local reporting, immigration and healthcare.

She has previously worked at The Miami Herald as a politics intern; at CNN, fact-checking the network’s content; and at Miami Today Newspaper, reporting on local government. In Venezuela, she worked at the investigative journalism outlets RunRun.es and Armando.info covering politics, human rights, and the Covid-19 pandemic.

A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Gabriela is bilingual in Spanish and English. This has allowed her to report on immigrant communities in the U.S.

Gabriela has a bachelor’s degree in Social Communications from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a master’s degree from Columbia University. She is a graduate fellow from the Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism.
